This is my favorite taco truck in LA. The meat quesadillas here are amazing!!! The meat is tender and juicy. There are a lot of different meat options that many other taco trucks do not have. The prices are really affordable. Like really, they are. The owner is really cool. They have lots of sides to add to the food and the atmosphere is really good. Definitely a place to visit.

It's been a minute since I was making my sometimes twice daily treks between LAX and DTLA stopping at every taco spot in between, so I've in a way lost track of some of the new stops in town. That includes the Tacos Como Taco Truck, which in my mind was just okay after a quick Saturday early evening visit.

Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?

While Tacos Como is a pretty standard truck, they set up a robust covered stand of peripherals and tacos towards the aim of a DIY model. You order your tacos, you're given the meat and tortillas, and you can have at it. Star.

Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?

At $1.25 each for standard sized street tacos and the prospect of endless peripherals, Tacos Como is a good deal. Star.

Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?

These tacos were just okay. From the tortillas to the meats, I've had worse and I've had better, and that to me defines a two star review. The highlights were the salsas and the chorizo, and the low points were the carne asada and the tortillas. Single Star.

Star 5: Would you be excited to go back?

There are so many amazing taco spots in town that I simply can't get excited about going back to Tacos Como. No Star.

Still a five star experience. I've been back a few times. Yesterday Luis served me his favorite, the pambazo. It's so good! He takes the bread for the torta and dips it in chipotle sauce. Has chorizo and potato on it with crema, onion, cheese, and lettuce. He recommended putting the green salsa. Definitely a heavier meal but so good!! Now I won't know if I want the quesadilla or pambazo when I go back.

Born and raised in LA here, which means that I've tried plenty of tacos in my lifetime. When it comes to tacos in LA, I have found that different locations have different specialities. I have to say that this truck has hands down, the best Al Pastor in the area...to be honest, it's the only place I go for Al Pastor. I'm not much of an asada person. Their salsas are bomb. They have an habanero salsa that really compliments the flavor of the pineapple. They're generous with sides and condiments, and pretty quick service. Point is, they have some pretty bomb dishes...just try their Al Pastor for sure though.

Solid tacos. Tried their asada, cabeza, and pastor. $1.25 each ($2 for some other items like sirloin). The tortillas were exceptional... u could smell the corn!

    Free street parking

Lots of tables/chairs (a lot compared to other a taco places)
